High-quality natural diamonds — particularly those with excellent cut grades and desirable colour/clarity combinations — maintain the strongest resale value. That said, we always recommend choosing a diamond because you love it, not purely as an investment.

Natural center diamonds of meaningful size come with an independent certificate — typically GIA (Gemological Institute of America), the industry gold standard, and in some cases IGI depending on the stone. The report documents the exact carat weight, cut grade, colour, clarity, and proportions, giving you complete confidence in your purchase. Smaller accent stones are not individually certified. A certificate is different from an appraisal: certification grades the diamond's quality objectively, while an appraisal assigns a monetary value for insurance — independent appraisals are available on request.

Yes — salt and pepper diamonds are 100% natural diamonds, formed in the Earth over billions of years. They are pure crystallized carbon and just as hard as a colourless diamond (10 on the Mohs scale). The difference is the inclusions: the white "salt" and black "pepper" flecks inside the stone are what give it its distinctive speckled, galaxy-like character. Rather than being graded down for those inclusions, salt and pepper diamonds are chosen for them.

For everyday wear, yes — they have the same hardness as any diamond. Because they are heavily included, some stones have inclusions closer to the surface that benefit from a more protective setting. Sergio assesses each stone individually and recommends a setting — often a bezel or a lower-profile design — that keeps it secure for a lifetime of daily wear.

An antique cut refers to how a diamond is faceted, not where it came from. Cuts like the Old Mine Cut, Old European Cut, and Rose Cut were shaped by hand before the twentieth century to catch candlelight, giving them a softer, warmer glow than modern precision-cut stones. Because an antique cut is a style rather than an origin, it can be applied to a natural diamond or a lab-grown one. A genuine antique mined diamond often already wears one of these cuts.
